Synopsis

The Avon Cinema in Providence, Rhode Island opened its doors for the first time in 1938 and continues to flourish today, screening art-house films that appeal to local residents and students at nearby colleges. This film joins its owner and staff for the celebration of its 75th anniversary.

About the Director

After graduating from the College of William and Mary with a degree in Government, Scott Norwood chose to eschew politics and instead returned to his native Boston to work in IT. As a hobby, he has been involved with film exhibition for the last decade and a half, booking films for theatres and providing film and video projection and sound services for various film festivals and events. As a self-taught filmmaker, he sought to document one of his favorite theatres in "Cinema Time Capsule."
